From Ad Tech to Timeless Photography: My Story

Hi, I’m Amanda — the photographer behind Olive & Eve Photography. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about who I am, where I come from, and how my creative background has shaped the way I approach photography today.

For nearly 11 years, I’ve worked in the ad tech industry as a graphic designer and digital designer. As many designers know, the role often extends far beyond a single title — and mine was no different. Over the years, I’ve worked across digital advertising, web design, branding, print design, conference booth displays, window decals, and even interior design for office spaces.

That experience taught me how to think strategically, pay close attention to detail, and design with intention. It also deepened my appreciation for storytelling — how strong visuals can connect people, communicate emotion, and leave a lasting impression.

Today, I work in client success, member engagement, and marketing for Integrated Rewards, a cashback rewards platform within the ad tech space. While the work is fast-paced and analytical, creativity still sits at the core of everything I do.

A County Girl at Heart

I grew up in Prince Edward County, and it will always feel like home. After high school, I moved to Oshawa to study graphic design, eventually building a career that brought me to Toronto, where I now live with my family. Even so, I find myself constantly drawn to slower moments, meaningful connections, and the beauty of everyday life — themes that naturally show up in my photography.

Photography found me organically. What began as a creative outlet alongside my design career gradually became something more. I fell in love with the way photography allowed me to connect with people on a personal level — capturing real emotion, quiet moments, and meaningful milestones in a way that felt honest and timeless.

As Olive & Eve Photography grew, my style settled into what feels most natural to me: candid, documentary-inspired imagery with gentle guidance when needed. Photos that feel real, unforced, and true to the people in them.

Life, Balance, and Perspective

Today, I balance full-time work, raising my two young daughters, and growing Olive & Eve Photography. In 2025, my family navigated a period of mental health challenges with an immediate family member — a season that reinforced the importance of compassion, patience, and being present. While it was difficult, it also deepened my appreciation for meaningful connection and the moments we often move past too quickly.

That perspective carries into my work. I approach photography with care, empathy, and a deep respect for each client’s story and season of life.

Where I Work & How I Price

I’m based in Toronto, but I proudly consider myself a Southern Ontario photographer. I regularly travel throughout Muskoka, Kawartha Lakes, London, Prince Edward County, and the Kingston area. When I’m already heading in those directions, I don’t charge a travel fee — something many clients find helpful when planning.

Even if you’re located outside those areas, I’m always happy to chat and see what might be possible.

As I continue to grow my wedding photography portfolio, I’m also very open to working within a range of budgets. If you have a number in mind, I encourage you to share it. I’ll always be honest about what I can offer while ensuring the work remains sustainable — but I don’t believe great photography needs to come with unnecessary pressure or rigid packages. I truly enjoy this work and love being part of meaningful celebrations.

Let’s Connect

If my work or approach resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re planning a wedding, celebrating a milestone, or simply want photos that feel like you, my goal is always the same — to create images that feel genuine, thoughtful, and lasting.

Thank you for being here and for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
