Amanda Costelloe Named Associate Photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep – Remembrance Photography with Heart

There are some parts of photography that go beyond images.

Quiet work.
Meaningful work.
Work that holds a different kind of weight.

I’m honoured to share that I am now an associate photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

If you’d like to read more about what this work means to me, I shared a more personal reflection here: Honouring Tiny Lives – My Work with NILMDTS

What It Means to Be an Associate Photographer with NILMDTS

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS) is a nonprofit organization that provides remembrance photography to families experiencing the loss of a baby.

As an associate photographer, I’ve joined a network of trained volunteer photographers who are available to support families during these deeply difficult moments. When called upon, I provide professional remembrance photography with care, compassion, and respect – helping families preserve meaningful memories of their child.

These sessions are not about creating perfect images. They’re about creating space.

Remembrance Photography – A Different Kind of Presence

This type of photography is different.

It’s not about posing.
It’s not about perfection.

It’s about presence.

As an associate photographer, my role is to step into these moments with gentleness and awareness – to document connection, love, and the quiet in-between moments in a way that feels supportive, not intrusive.

This work aligns deeply with how I approach photography through Olive & Eve Photography – always rooted in authenticity, care, and real connection.

Photography Rooted in Compassion, Connection & Storytelling

Throughout my work as a photographer, whether I’m documenting weddings, families, or everyday moments, I’ve always believed that photography is about more than what we see.

It’s about what we feel.

Being an associate photographer with NILMDTS brings that belief into a space where empathy matters even more. It’s about listening, observing, and honoring each family’s experience with the utmost respect.

It’s a privilege to be trusted in these moments.

Why This Work Matters

Photographs have the ability to hold memory in a way nothing else can.

For families navigating loss, these images often become something they return to – a way to remember, to honour, and to stay connected.

As an associate photographer, being able to provide that, even in a small way, is something I don’t take lightly.

This role is not about recognition.
It’s about service.
It’s about care.

And it’s about being present when it matters most.

Looking Ahead – Serving Families Through Remembrance Photography

Becoming an associate photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep feels deeply aligned with both my work and my values.

It’s an extension of what I believe photography can be – not just something we create, but something we give.

If you’re learning about this organization for the first time, I encourage you to explore the meaningful work they do in supporting families through loss.

And to the families who trust photographers in these moments – thank you. Your strength, love, and stories are deeply felt.
